Benefits of Natural Feminine Hygiene

Don’t Use Chemicals in Most Sensitive of Areas

You’ve seen the commercials and all the embarrassing ads. Social media in particular has a wonderful way of putting those “not so fresh” ads smack in the middle of your posts about how romanticyoung-woman your boyfriend is and the photo someone took of the two of you kissing. You know what’s even worse than that? The list of ingredients on those products. They can be downright frightening. Ammonium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, ammonium chloride, disodium EDTA, methylisothiazolinone, sodium chloride, and FD&C Blue No. 1 are not the ingredients you want to be putting on your most sensitive skin in that most sensitive area. Did you know these ingredients can not only irritate skin but can also make it vulnerable to infection? Yeah. Scary thought. This stuff can also enter your bloodstream and cause a myriad of other problems. Because vaginal tissue is so absorptive, we need to be highly cautious about carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, and reproductive toxicants. These things can cause cancerous tumors, birth defects, and developmental disorders. Not good!

Don’t Risk It

The convenience and low price of picking up a feminine wash at the local discount store or grocer is simply not worth the risks involved. How badly do we even need feminine wash products? We know advertising campaigns are designed to create a sense of urgency about problems that may or may not exist, and to then magically provide a cure for this new-found problem. The truth is we have been made to believe our bodies’ natural odors are somehow foul. For normal everyday cleansing, we really don’t need any special products – especially not products that are designed for internal use. That being said, however, there are times we want to make sure there’s nothing offensive going on down there. Thankfully, there are some safe options.

Natural & Nourishing Cleansers

If you feel the need to really feel clean, you can easily research DIY recipes online that use simple, natural ingredients. This is a great option if you want to experiment a little bit. If you’re like manyemirita-feminine-wash of us, though, who don’t have time to prepare a proper meal much less research recipes for your lady parts, check out Emerita’s Feminine Cleansing & Moisturizing Wash. Not only is Emerita a brand that’s been trusted for over 35 years, but their feminine wash is designed specifically for women by women to actually support overall vaginal health. It cleans and freshens but it also moisturizes. Its key ingredients are aloe vera gel, chamomile, and ginseng – all natural and gentle. What’s more is many of the ingredients are organic; there are no parabens, no animal products or byproducts; and no animal testing!

So there you have it. Not only have we learned today that we don’t need to worry about our natural feminine scents but we also now know there’s a safe, natural way to care for those odors when we are worried!
